For a cultural experience Maitland Repertory Society holds numerous play seasons throughout the year.  During 2009 play seasons include Taking Sides, A Crown and Two Swords, Rooted, Amigos, Twelfth Night, The Importance of Being Earnest and The Gripping Saga of the Lost Largs Ruby Mine and a Romulus Play Event.  Performances are by all Repertory groups, including Junior Repertory, Reamus Youth Theatre and Romulus Players.  
 
Maitland is also home to a multi-theatre cinema complex screening the latest movies at reasonable prices. For a unique entertainment experience there is also a drive-in located at Heddon Greta approximately 10 minutes from central Maitland.
